Add an Employee

Click the Add an Employee link. The “Add an Employee Screen” will display.

Complete all of the form fields on the “Add New Employee” screen.

Note the following fields:

Employee Email Address

Make sure to enter the employee’s correct email address. An email alert is sent to the employee once you have clicked the Add Employee button and confirmed that the information is correct.

Username

As a hint, we generally use the employee’s first initial + last name, but you are welcome to use any combination that you prefer.

Password

For your convenience, use the Generate Password button to generate a password. Note that the password must be unique and cannot exist within the training. If you enter a password that already exists, you will be prompted to enter another password.

Level

This determines the level assigned to your employee.

Manager level provides the employee access to both the BarRestaurantTraining.com Admin Screen and the Employee Training application.

Employee level provides the employee only access to the BarRestaurantTraining.com Employee Training application.

Type

Assign an employee a specific type to determine what type of training that employee has access to. For example, assigning an employee with type All provides that employee access to all of the employee training (General, Bartender, Server, and Security). In some instances, perhaps the new employee will only work security, and therefore you can assign that employee as Security. That employee would then be granted access only to the General and Security training.

Note: All employees will have access to the General Training.

Add an Employee Email Alert

Once an employee has been added, two emails are sent out: one to the employee and one to the manager. Below is a sample email that a manager would receive. The last part of the below email alert is what your newly added employee will receive.

View Employee Information

After adding an employee, you can confirm that the employee has been added by opening the View Employee screen.

Edit Employee Information

To edit an employee’s information, simply click the Edit Employee button to display the Edit Employee screen.

Employee Training

Employee Login

When a manager has successfully added an employee to the BarRestaurantTraining.com database, that employee will automatically receive an email with instructions and login information.

Using the information received in the employee added email, an employee can login.

Employee Welcome Screen

After employees log in to the training, they will first see a Welcome screen that describes the different phases of the training.

Forms Screen

Next is the Forms screen. BarRestaurantTraining.com has standard new hire forms one would need when setting up a training program.

As employees opens and prints each form, they are required to check the box next to the form, confirming that they have read the form.

After employees complete all of the forms, an email alert is sent to the manager of record, stating that the employee has completed all of the forms.

General Training

After completing the forms, employees will then go to the General Training screen that consists of an Employee Handbook and a General Training Test.

Employee Handbook

The Employee Handbook provides clear guidance to employees working in a bar/nightclub/restaurant establishment and helps create a culture where issues are dealt with consistently and fairly. Similar to the Forms screen, employees are required to check the Employee Handbook box, stating that they have read and understood the policies in the Employee Handbook.

The manager will receive an email alert when the employee completes reading the Employee Handbook. The training database will also show that the employee has completed reading through the Employee Handbook.

General Training Test

The General Training Test covers material in the Employee Handbook. After completing the test, employees can see what answers they answered correctly and incorrectly.

Position Training

After completing the General Training, employees will view the positional training that they were assigned when the manager set up the employee.
